Team Description: Back for a third year, the IDE Hawk-eyes are a loose collection of intrepid birders, all of whom are participating in a Birdathon event based at the Institute of Desert Ecology in Catalina State Park. We've defined our Birdathon boundaries as within walking distance of the group campsite where the Institute takes place. This is our second fossil fuel-free birdathon, so as far as we're concerned, we're ahead of the curve on the no-fuel trend! Our goal is to beat our total species count from last year – oh, and learn a lot about desert ecology, too.
