Team Members: 2008 Target: 100 2008 Result: 116 Team Description: Our fossil fuel-free Birdathon team will be bicycling down the Mt. Lemmon Highway in the Santa Catalina mountains during the 24-hour Birdathon. Considering that Tucson sits at about 2000 feet above sea level and the road up the mountain tops out at around 9000 feet, we're looking at 7000 feet of elevation loss. In terms of bird species and habitat types, it'll be like riding from Canada to Mexico! Where we go after the big descent will be determined on the wing! Since we're using our own leg-power to get us around, the only thing we'll be burning is calories! We feel that this is a great way to continue to enjoy the challenge of a birding Big Day while highlighting resource conservation and awareness. Pledge Now! You can make a secure online pledge or donation to this Birdathon team! NOTE: If you make a per species pledge, a dollar amount of $0.01 will show on the shopping cart checkout screen. You must go through the entire checkout process for your pledge to register. After the team's Birdathon is over, you will be contacted with the number of species seen and the amount that has been charged to your card. Flat donations will show on your shopping cart checkout, and will be charged, without further contact, within three working days of your online donation.
