Tucson Audubon Society Tucson Audubon Society has been working in southern Arizona for more than 50 years to promote conservation and environmental education, and to provide environmental recreation. Mission Statement The Executive Director, along with TAS staff, work in concert with other environmental organizations to identify threats to habitat and to address issues of importance to the community. The Education Program Manager develops and carries out programs for adults and children. The staff of the Nature Shop provide quality books, equipment and information for birders and nature enthusiasts. Restoration Projects Manager develops and manages habitat restoration projects. The Important Bird Areas Program Coordinator manages nominations of Arizona Important Bird Areas and seeks citizen science volunteers to help monitor wildlife at these sites. The Mason Audubon Center on Tucson's Northwest Side consists of an interpretive center and 22 acres of ironwood-saguaro habitat. There is a monthly chapter program meeting is held at DuVal Auditorium (University Medical Center) with news updates and interesting speakers.
