Founded in 1949, Tucson Audubon Society is southern Arizona's leading non-profit engaging people in the conservation of birds and their habitats. With your support, we involve people through recreational birding, extend their horizons through education programs, and engage them in conservation actions from planting trees and counting birds, to working with local, state, and national policy makers. Your generosity makes this work possible — THANK YOU!
Fierce, Alive, and In Trouble - Year-end Appeal
Did you know that in Europe the cousin of our American Kestrel was called a Windhover, on account of its habit of hanging in the wind? Have you ever spotted a kestrel on a Christmas Bird Count or Breeding Bird Survey? Your observations have led us to a startling discovery: this remarkable bird of prey has declined by more than 80 percent over the last 40 years.
We can each do something today to make the future better before it's too late. We can build nest boxes. We can stop using rat poison. We can act to slow global warming. We can share our love of birds. And together we can have a big impact on the future, for birds and for our community.
By sending your gift today you will join with Tucson Audubon to build an outstanding urban conservation program and give the American Kestrel a fighting chance.
